About Ali Nava

Ali Nava taught 1st and 2nd grade at Lew Wallace Elementary school in the Albuquerque Public School system for over 10 years.  With a MA and BA in Early Childhood Multicultural Education from UNM, Ali’s primary focus is developing and implementing a standards-based curriculum in a primary grade setting, writing and math strategies aligned to CCSS, differentiated instruction, and the modernization of station teaching and facilitation.  Some of Ali’s professional accomplishments include National Board Certification, Level Three-A Instructional Leader B-3 Early Childhood License with Endorsement in TESOL, Modern and Classical Languages and Bilingual Education, and Pepsi/APS Education Foundation Teacher of the Month for May 2013.  Other past experiences include development of educational policy for the Office of the Governor during the Richardson administration, the WETA/Colorìn Colorado CCSS/ELL project collaboration with Dr. Diane August, and former NMAEYC board member.  Ali brings a fresh perspective of today’s educational trends to her training and coaching sessions.
